Life is Short

Have you watched an advertisement “life is short”?

I have been impressed with that advertisement. It showed a young woman who was about to give a birth in a birthing room surrounded by some doctors and other medical staffs helping them to give birth her baby. The woman was trying hard to take a deep breath helped with a respiration tool…and finally she succeeded in giving birth the baby. What makes me impressed was the next scene of the film that is: the new born baby was showed jumping and flying over the room out of the window and flying over the sky and it grew older became a child, then a boy and then an adult man and an old man…and then finally the old man fell down, crushed into his grave yard! And the advertisement was closed with a very wise utterance :”Life is short. Do more!”

I see the soul of Islamic teaching in this advertisement! Let’s recall some verses in the Holy Quran stating that our life on this earth is short and not eternal.

“Wa maa hayaataddunya illaa mataa’ul ghuruur” Life is nothing but a a kind of faking joy.

“Wal aakhirotu khoiruw wa abqo” And the Akhirat ( eternal life) is much better much more eternal.

“Wal aakhirotu khoirullaka minal uula” And the Akhirat is much better than the previous one!

So. Brothers and Sisters, if we have known that life on the earth now is “small” and “short” what should we do? Alloh, our God says in Quran Surah Al “Ashr that all of men are bankrupt except those who have strict faith and do good deeds and those who always remind others of good things ans suggest them for obedience.

And the essence of this teaching seems to be “summarized” in this advertisement! Well, le’t do our best in everything we do. let Alloh find us as successful servants before Him with our all good deeds we can create! AMIN (my own self contemplation)
